Instead of contributing to air pollution through burning, these husks are collected, ground into a fine fibre, and combined with a melamine binder to create a durable, dense material. This mixture is then molded under high heat into reusable tableware that is tough, dishwasher safe, and heat resistant. By transforming a natural by-product into long-lasting goods, this process supports a circular economy and reduces waste, while still creating a product that is biodegradable once crushed and buried at the end of its life.
