How It's Made

Created by repurposing rice husks, the protective outer shells of rice grains that are typically discarded or burned as agricultural waste. Instead of contributing to air pollution through burning, these husks are collected, ground into a fine fibre, and combined with a melamine binder to create a durable, dense material. This mixture is then molded under high heat into reusable tableware that is tough, dishwasher safe, and heat resistant. By transforming a natural by-product into long-lasting goods, this process supports a circular economy and reduces waste, while still creating a product that is biodegradable once crushed and buried at the end of its life.
